I’ve been photographing more and more event lately. I find it fun and energetic! You never know what’s going to happen. Nothing is planned…I photograph as things happen. This event was no different! The Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter put on several fundraisers throughout the year. I’ve had the honor of covering a couple others as well. This one was the most exciting! A donor challenge was called. If $100,000 could be raised by December 1, 2012 presenting sponsor of the event, MaryAnn Wright would match that! Well guess what! Two groups of supporters committed to matching that before dinner was even served! $300,000 that will be used specifically for their future new building. I could go on and on….auction prizes going for upwards of $4,000. It was a successful night for the shelter no doubt.
Here are just a few photos that I took. Also visit Besek Photography Events at www.events.besekphotography.net to view the entire gallery of photos. They are available for purchase. Any sales made will have a portion donated back to the shelter. I may not be able to donate $100k, but every little bit I can helps!
